4 Shoes that every guy needs (Non-Sneakers)
The Derby is a classic, it’s a well-made leather shoe, that can be dressed up or down, worn with a suit or jeans, to a wedding or to brunch, you get the idea. It is a least formal of formal shoe family, and therefore can be implemented into every man’s wardrobe. Some of my favorites are the Guidi derby, the FW13 Skeleton derby by Undercover and lastly the Sacai X Hender Scheme derby, which is a slip-on design with white contrast laces on the heel.
With the loafer, you can’t go wrong with a Gucci pair. I personally recommend the classic pair, but of course you can go for a more flamboyant pair with fur or an embroidered pair. Another pair I am a huge fan of is the Hender Scheme Slouchy Loafer, but sadly they are impossible to find in a size 7, which is equivalent to a US 11, but non-the less a great choice.
The Biker Boot
There are many variations of this, but my personal favorite is the classic Saint Laurent Wyatt 40 in black leather. This boot is nothing less than iconic, but sadly this is the last season it will be a part of the permanent collection. Another favorite of mine, a boot I actually own is the AW 07 Dior Homme navigate boot. Now those are both boots designed by Hedi Slimane, but some others include the classic Guidi back zip boot or the CCP Tornado boots.
The Combat Boot
As you may have realized I am a huge fan of Hedi’s boots, and with combat boots it’s no different. Let’s start off with the greatest combat boot of all time, the Dior Homme Navigate combat boot. Now another brand that makes incredible combat boots is Ann Demelemeester, with models such as the back laced Vitello boot.
